F W Bramwell began a new Retailer training programme in December 2008, to encourage store owners to teach scrapbooking to their customers. The SDU programme, which stands for Scrapbooking, Design and You, was designed by Joy McDonnell, a scrapbook store owner in the United States. Combining Joy’s knowledge and experience with quality product from EK Success, SDU has evolved into a course where students can graduate with certification, after they learn the essential scrapbook theories and principles of design.
Accredited retailers have already begun holding SDU classes in their stores, and more are planned to commence in February and March. Contact your local nearest store from the list below to find out when their SDU courses are planned.
SDU teaches simple basics of how best to store and organise photographs, choosing the right albums and planning the scrapbook around the story that needs to be told.
Learning the theory of scrapbooking, along with the practical knowledge increases the consumers’ understanding of ‘why’ they should plan page layouts, and how to use matting and journaling to create the right focus on specific elements of a page and why some colours work better than others. Even experienced scrapbookers can see the difference in page layouts where the theories of SDU have been applied.
SDU will give students the opportunity to try out product from EK Success and show how important having the right tools is when it comes to scrapbooking and paper crafting in general. All class projects fit right inside the SDU collectable binder, which becomes your reference to scrapbooking.
The SDU Curriculum provides each student with
