Step by step
1. Cut a piece of the red metallic card 8” square and another piece 8” by 9”. Score the 8” by 9” piece 1” in from the right hand side. Fold over and crease. Add double sided tape and attach the other piece of red card to the 1” strip to create an 8” square card.
2. Lightly sand the Robot clear stamps. Attach them to your acrylic block and using the ink pads stamp three Robots of your choice, one in each of the three colours. Because the stamps are solid images and I wanted to add the illusion of dimension to them, I drew around the edge of the stamped image with the Copic fine liner pen, coloured the images with my Copics and highlighted them with a white Gelly Roll pen. Cut around th stamped Robots leaving a narrow border around the edge.
3. Cut two pieces of silver mirror card. One 2.75” by 3.5” and another 3” by 5.5”. Ink the edges of both pieces with a black Stazon ink pad and attach the smallest piece to the top left hand corner and the larger piece to the bottom right hand corner leaving a border around each piece.
4. Cut a 6” square from both the Blips and beeps Gears galore paper and the Robo stripe paper. Ink the edges and attach the Gears galore paper to the top left corner and the Robot stripe paper to the bottom right corner leaving a section of the mirri card showing – see photo.
5. Trim a piece of the blue metallic card 6.5” square, a piece of silver mirri card 6.25” square and a 6” square from th Robot stripe paper. Ink the edges of the paper with a black ink pad and then mat it onto silver mirri card. Stick this flat onto the blue card and using foam pads attach this to the front of your card.
6. Matt a piece of the blue card 2.5” by 5.5” onto silver mirror and cut leaving a very narrow border.
7. Carefully cut a strip of silver mirror card to 0.75” by 4.5” and place into the embossing folder. Run through a die cutting machine and ink the edges. Cut a piece of black cardstock to 1.5” by 4.5” and attach the embossed silver card to the centre of it. Cut a piece of red cardstock 1.75” by 4.75” and attach the black card to the centre of it using 3D foam pads. Adhere this to the blue matted card with foam pads and attach to the front of the card using 3D foam.
8. Attach the robots to the front of thecard using 3D foam pads. From the remainder of the Robot stripe paper, cut a piece from the Gears section measuring 1” by 5”. Cut a strip the same size from silver mirror card and, using a craft knife and ruler, cut a section from the centre 7/16” by 4.5”. Emboss using the folder and ink the edges. Using 2mm black foam strip, add three layers around the outside edge (remember the tape has to be really narrow to allow the pennies to roll).
10. Cut a narrow strip of black card and, using the white Gelly Roll pen, write your message (alternatively you can use peel offs). Attach the message strip to the patterned paper and then attach the embossed silver mirror strip to the top of the paper.
11. Matt and layer this onto Kiwi, red and blue cardstock, inking each edge. Attach to the bottom section of your card front.
12. Take one of the wheel (gear) metal embellishments and stick a five pence piece to the back of it. Add a small piece from a foam pad to the centre of the five pence, and attach another five pence to the other side of the foam. Slot this into the Embossed metal strip, making sure it spins (if it doesn’t, reduce the size of the foam pad).
13. Decorate the rest of the card with your embellishments and enhance by doodling with you black fine liner and white pen.
